The Road Forward

Every phase below is conditional on the one before it. The timeline is honest — not aspirational. What's built is built. What's next is next.

Now — Month 6  ·  Active
Finish Book One
Everything else is conditional on this. The manuscript is alive — now it needs an ending.
  • Complete the remaining chapters. You have a strong opening through Chapter 4. Feiyel is on the page. Lie'al's arc needs its full first act closed — his departure from Volarin, the first Set Scar convergence, and the foundation of what will become civilization.
  • Do not open new codex documents. The lore is locked. The language is built. Every hour spent on new canon documents is an hour not spent finishing the draft.
  • Do not start game development. The GDDs are written and waiting. They will still be there in six months. The manuscript will not write itself.
  • Write to your first reader. Identify one trusted person from the Soulaani / African American community who will read honestly. Tell them the book is coming.

Month 6 — Month 12
Edit, Readers, Publish
A complete draft is not a finished book. This phase turns the manuscript into something the world can hold.
  • Sensitivity readers first. Your primary audience is the Soulaani / African American community — your own words in the Master Narrative. Get the book in front of those readers before it goes anywhere else. Their response shapes the final revision.
  • Decide your publishing path. Independent publishing gives you speed and ownership. Traditional publishing gives you infrastructure. Both are valid. Make the decision and move.
  • Start building the audience now, not after launch. You have enough to share — Eumelaain words, lore fragments, the story behind the dedication. The community should exist before the book drops, not after.
  • The book needs to be in readers' hands before the end of Year 1. This is the gate. Nothing after this phase opens until this is done.

Year 1 — Year 2
Build the Community Around What Exists
The universe is rich enough to share. The audience needs to find it before you need them to show up.
  • Share the world, not just the book. Post Eumelaain words. Share world-building fragments. Talk about the Soulaani origin, the Source Scar, what the universe is actually about at its deepest level. Give people a reason to care about the universe before the second book arrives.
  • Soulaani Nation MVP enters development. The GDD is written. Phase 1 is clearly scoped — player movement, NationManager, HUD, basic building, resource system, population growth. PC first. Red, black, and gold. Build the foundation before the nation.
  • Begin Book Two. The Structuring era. Lie'al shifts from witness to architect. The political philosophy of the world — authority is communal, covenantal, and revocable — becomes visible in the narrative.

Conditional: Book One must be published before game development begins.

Year 2 — Year 3
Soulaani Nation — Early Access
The first game ships. The nation that could not be built without its ground is standing.
  • Phase 1 MVP live. Player movement, NationManager loop, Nation HUD, grid-based building placement, resource system, population growth via housing and Soulaani Return. Prove the foundation works.
  • Community feedback shapes Phase 2. What the players respond to, what breaks, what they want more of — all of that informs the military system, AI faction behavior, and diplomacy trees.
  • Book Two in final draft. Parallel track — the book is being finished while the game is in early access.

Conditional: Soulaani Nation MVP only begins after Book One is published.

Year 3 — Year 4
Book Two Published + Soulaani Nation Full Release
Two things in the world. The universe has a presence — literary and interactive.
  • Book Two: The Structuring. Sets, discipline systems, and social order. The first covenant governance structures. Published and in readers' hands.
  • Soulaani Nation full release. All three endings active — Good, Bad, and Neutral. Source System live. The MMO post-launch arc begins planning. Console release secondary to PC.
  • Source Scar Wars pre-production begins. The GDD is already written. Now it gets character bibles for Serayf Ma'et and the five companions. Environmental and cultural documentation for Eumela, Neuromela, and Phoemela. Visual identity locked: hyper-realistic with anime stylistic elements.
  • The universe now has two books and one released game. That is a real ecosystem with real momentum.
Details
Year 4 — Year 6
Book Three + Source Scar Wars in Development
The trilogy closes. The bigger game builds. Two parallel tracks, both grounded in the canon that was written years earlier.
  • Book Three: The Expansion. The foundation of Eumelaain civilization complete. The Sets bound to the Scar permanently. Feiyel appointed. The Book Era closes. Anthology possibilities open — short stories in the gaps.
  • Source Scar Wars in active development. Core combat systems. Set-building progression. Companion system. Branching narrative. The Eumelaain language — already built — integrated into NPC dialogue and environmental text. Internal playtesting begins.
  • The trilogy is the mythology the game was built on. By the time Source Scar Wars ships, players can read the books that explain where the world came from.
Details
Year 7 — Year 8
Source Scar Wars — Beta & Full Release
The Game Era opens. Players live inside the civilization Lie'al built.
  • Early access beta. Community engages with Serayf Ma'et's story across all three planets. Drop-in / drop-out co-op live for up to six players.
  • Scar Echoes missions. Time-shifted flashback gameplay reliving Firstborn Era events — connecting game players directly back to the books. The two mediums reward each other.
  • Full release. PC and console. The in-game Codex unlocks richer lore for players who have read the novels.
  • Source Scar Forge Mode in development. User-generated Scar arenas and lore dungeons. The community starts building inside the universe.
Details
Year 8 — Year 10
Living World — MMO, Season Updates, Game Era Novels
The universe sustains itself. The community builds inside it. A second novel series becomes possible.
  • Source Scar Wars New Game+ unlocks the MMO layer. Players who finish the campaign now live inside a persistent world. Seasonal updates shift world state based on community-wide decisions. The Source remembers.
  • Soulaani Nation MMO. Nation-building at community scale. No single player wins alone. What the community builds together determines the nation's fate.
  • Forge Mode ships. User-generated content. The universe expands beyond what you alone can build.
  • Game Era novel series. A second trilogy set in the Game Era — Year 6,500. The mature civilization Lie'al built, told through Serayf Ma'et in literary form. Two distinct eras, one continuous universe.

What Holds All of This Together

Canon First

Every new piece checks against what's locked. The Source Scar rules, Set Scar doctrine, and particle law do not bend for convenience.

Books Anchor the Games

The games are the mature civilization. The books are how it was born. That relationship stays legible across every medium.

Audience Is Primary

The Soulaani community is the primary audience. Art, language, palette, and thematic core all serve that relationship first.

Phase Discipline

Each phase is conditional on the one before it. The nation cannot be built without its ground. Neither can the universe.

One Truth Across All Formats

Book, game, or codex — the same truth runs underneath. The Source recognizes what has already been built.

"You were never without origin.
You were never without power.
You were never without memory.
You simply had to rediscover it."
